  • Helps to Lose Weight:
    Black chickpeas are rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber facilitates the excretion of bile and ferries by forming a gel like substance in the digestive tract, whereas insoluble fiber prevents constipation and other digestive disorders. Moreover, fiber fills up your stomach. Drinking Soup of Black chickpeas helps to get rid from Cough and Cold
  • Helps to lower Cholesterol:
    Daily consumption of around ¾ cup of chickpeas helps to decrease LDL cholesterol. Moreover, the dietary fiber of black chick peas is superior to that found in other foods.
  • Helps to Prevent Anemia:
    Being a rich source of Iron, black chickpeas can prevent anemia and boost your energy levels.
  • Facial Skin Care:
    When Black chick peas are split with skin removed and ground to make Besan from them, then it is an excellent source for skincare and is often used in face packs to give you flawless glowing skin.
  • How to use for Facial Skin Care? Take two spoons of Besan(Chickpeas flour) add 1/2 squeezed lemon juice and and add one spoon Plain Yogurt, then mix everything together to make a paste of it. Apply to your face and keep it for couple of minutes, then wash your face with lukewarm water and clean with Towel.

How to make Kala Chana Soup? Written Instructions

  1. Soak chole/ Kala chana required amount for 8-10 hours before cooking as they need to be soften before cooking and is easy to digest as well.
  2. To soak chickpeas: Wash them and soak them in cold Water. Make sure you cover them several inches of water to allow for expansion.
  3. When you are ready to make Soup, then drain the water out and wash them again 2-3 times in running water
  4. Make Paste of one onion, one green Chili, Garlic, one Tomato and Ginger in Blender
  5. Wash Pressure cooker and put on medium flame and add some cooking olive oil; like Extra Virgin Olive Oil and add this paste and stir it for two minutes
  6. Now add all spices according to taste. Such as; Turmeric, Pink Salt, Black pepper, Oregano, Jeera powder and Dhania powder. Then stir few minutes and add washed and rinsed Kala Chana
  7. Now add Some water and close the lid and give 5-7 Whistles and then on medium flame let it cook at least 40 minutes to an hour. By cooking for a longer time on slow flame, Chanas become soft and also the all added ingredients mix nicely. Cooked Chanas on slow flame give the taste as one cook on Chula(Village)
  8. When it is ready, put some fresh Coriander leaves and serve hot with Cooked Rice, Chapati, Missi Roti or Paratha.
