On August 28, 2021 Saturday, in lunch time I ate sprouts salad, which I made with the combination of; Mung Sprouts very small amount, cucumber, Avocado and small amount of Orange. It was very delicious, but I don’t know what happened? after few minutes, my stomach started to pain.

I thought it will be okay within sometime, but it was the same for more than an hour. Then I thought, let’s make masala chai and I put lot Ajwain, saunf, green cardamom and black cardamom to make my masala tea. But I ate one ajwain cookie and two cashews with this tea. My stomach started to pain even more and my stomach became so hard as well.

At that time, I was watching Doctor Amar Singh Azad’s videos. When my pain increased more, he told in the video that we have so many medicinal plants with us, which can give a lot of benefits to our health. He recommended to use; such as-Mint, Basil, Cinnamon, Dushanda, Kadi Patta(methi neem) to cure some diseases.

By hearing him, right away I get up and picked some fresh mint and basil from my Backyard Garden and I made herbal tea of it and I drank it little hot. Believe me, it worked as a miracle and while drinking, my all stomach pain was gone and my stomach became soft in minutes. I tried herbal teas before, but never ever happened with any herb like this.

I used to make herbal tea two years ago from fresh basil and I never realised any benefits before like this, the way I got instant benefit in my stomach pain with this herbal tea.

Health Benefits of Mint Tea

Mint tea can contain both peppermint and spearmint leaves, which can be combined in varying proportions depending on your personal choice.

  1. Soothes Upset Stomach
The cooling effects of menthol in peppermint tea help to soothe an upset stomach in several ways. First, menthol relaxes the stomach muscles that can contract and cause cramping. The cooling effect of menthol can improve circulation and relieve inflammation that causes stomach pains.
  1. Improves Digestion
Mint tea can help regulate digestion to keep everything running smoothly. A study done at the University of Exeter showed that peppermint tea moves gas throughout the body thus relieving the feeling of bloating and cramps. Menthol in peppermint tea also increases bile in the stomach, which helps to digest foods more efficiently. Menthol relaxes the muscles in the digestive tract, making peppermint tea a great choice for people who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome
  2. Combats the Common Cold and Flu
Peppermint tea contains compounds that help to fight off colds while building up your immunity. Drinking a hot cup of tea is one of the most popular ways to soothe a sore throat. Peppermint tea takes it one step further by relaxing throat muscles that cause an irritating cough. Since menthol is a muscle relaxant, mint tea helps open up airways, relieving congestion and alleviating severe colds such as bronchitis.
  3. Caffeine free: Mint tea is a naturally caffeine free herbal tea. While most people drink mint tea infusions because they love the refreshing taste, many find it a great alternative to drinking caffeinated hot drinks such as coffee and black tea and even green tea, which also contains some caffeine. Avoiding caffeine, particularly in the afternoon and evening can help with sleep problems as well as with anxiety and palpitations.
