Spices play an important role while making our herbal teas. We use various types of spices to bring aroma & flavor in our herbal tea.

Choti Elaichi is a common spice that we often use in all these herbal tea recipes. 

We can use two types of elaichi. So one of them is badi elaichi and the second one is choti eliche.

1. Fennel Cinnamon Tea Recipe

Serving one

  1. 1/2 Spoon Saunf(fennel)
  2. 2 Green cardamom(choti elachi)
  3. 4 Leaves of mint
  4. Very Little lemon grass
  5. Cinnamon(dal chini)
  6. Mishri optional for sweetener

Method to Make Fennel Cinnamon Tea

  1. In saucepan pour one and half cup of water
  2. Add mint leaves
  3. Add choti elachi by crushing it in the mortar
  4. Add Cinnamon by cruising it in the mortar
  5. Let it boil for 5-7 minutes on medium flame and then switch off the stove
  6. Cover the lid and let it rest for couple of minutes
  7. Strain into a cup and if you want add some मिश्री(Rock Sugar) and drink hot
  8. You can drink it in the morning instead of masala chai, afternoon and even after the dinner before sleeping

2. Mint Cinnamon Fennel Tea Recipe

Serving one person

  1. 1/2 Spoon Saunf(fennel)
  2. 1/2 Badi elaichi(black cardamom)
  3. 1 Inch Cinnamon
  4. 2 Laung( cloves)
  5. One inch fresh ginger
  6. 3-4 Leaves mint
  7. 2 Munakka(Raisins)

Method to Make Mint Cinnamon Fennel Tea

  1. In saucepan pour one and half cup of water
  2. Add mint leaves
  3. Add Munakka by washing
  4. Add ginger after peeling or washing(chop it in small)
  5. Add 2 Laung by crusing in the mortar
  6. Add Saunf by crushing in the mortar
  7. Add Cinnamon by crushing in the mortar
  8. Let it boil for 5-7 minutes on medium flame and then switch off the stove
  9. Cover the lid and let it rest for couple of minutes
  10. Strain into a cup and if you want, you can also add freshly squeezed lemon juice
  11. You can also add, if you want, jaggery powder or Unpasteurized honey
  12. You can drink this herbal tea once or twice a day

3. Basil Coriander Tea Recipe

The health benefits of holy basil, also known as tulsi, are many. It has been recommended for the treatment of bronchitis, malaria, diarrhea, dysentery, skin disease, arthritis, eye diseases, insect bites and so on.

  1. 4-5 Tulsi(basil) leaves
  2. One inch washed ginger
  3. Some fresh and washed coriander leaves

Method to Make Basil Coriander Tea

  1. In saucepan pour one and half cup of water

  3. Add Dhania Patte(Coriander leaves)
  4. Add Ginger by chopping in small pieces
  5. Let it boil for 5-7 minutes on medium flame and then switch off the stove
  6. Cover the lid and let it rest for couple of minutes
  7. Strain into a cup and drink hot.

How to use Basil?

There are many ways to use basil. You can make basil chutney, basil juice, basil tea as described in the recipe above. You can also use basil in salads. Basil is easy to use and because of its versatility, can be added to many different types of dishes, as well as waters and even teas.

Add basil to soups, tomato sauces, and stir-fries. Add whole, chopped, or torn fresh leaves to a salad.

  2. Pour water into saucepan and let it become little hot
